Internet cookies
Computer cookies are minute files sent to the browser from the websites visited by the user. The files observe the sites visited and any links that have been opened. Cookies can be used to retain useful information in order to increase the user experience (Rafter, 2022).
User Interface (UI)
The term "user interface" (UI) describes how a user interacts with a website or piece of software. It contains the organisation, style, and controls that let the user move about the programme or website and access its features and capabilities. (Nielsen, 1993, pp.12).
Page source
The underlying code that generates the visual elements that are shown in a web browser is known as the page source. It can be viewed by using the "View Page Source" or "View Source" option in the browser's menu. It was created using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. (Murach 2017, pp. 34)
Meta tags
Meta tags are HTML tags that offer metadata about a web page. Users cannot see them because they are hidden in the "head" portion of an HTML document. Keywords, descriptions, and the author of the page are just a few examples of the data that can be included in meta tags. Search engines utilise them to comprehend the page's content and display it in search results (Murach, 2017, p. 22).
jQuery
jQuery is a quick, compact, and feature-rich JavaScript library that streamlines HTML page traversal, event handling, and animation in addition to accelerating and streamlining HTML-based application development (Bibeault & Katz, 2010, p.1)
Hyperlinks
Users can move between online sites by clicking on these clickable links. They can be represented by graphics or buttons in addition to the standard display of highlighted and coloured text. The "a" tag and "href" attribute in HTML are used in hyperlinks to define the destination URL (Murach, 2017, p. 16).
HTML
The common markup language used to construct web pages is called HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). It is used to design a web page's framework and layout, including the headings, paragraphs, graphics, and links (Murach, 2017, p. 3).
CSS
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is a language for creating style sheets that describe the appearance of HTML or XML documents. It is used to modify a web page's design, colour, and typography (Murach, 2017, p. 31).
JavaScript
Web pages are frequently enhanced with interactive features and other dynamic elements using JavaScript, a programming language. It can be used to develop interactive elements such as responsive forms and animations (Murach, 2017, p. 49).
Ruby
Ruby is a popular language for web development that is dynamic and object-oriented, especially when combined with the Ruby on Rails framework (Thomas & Hunt, 2010, p. 1)
Python
Python is a high-level, interpreted programming language that is frequently used in web development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing. (Guido van Rossum, 1991, p.1)
