In terms of video games worldwide, it does not not get bigger than GameStop. How they started from humble beginnings to become the world's largest video game retail store is simply incredible. Playstation store on the other hand, created by Sony, which are owners of one of the most popular gaming company of all time.

GameStop was founded in 1984, originally called Babbage's. Over the decades, the company continued to expand, gain investors, and expand their online presence. It was popular for selling Nintendo games in the 90s, which is a popular gaming system till date. GameStop were focused on the gaming culture itself rather than just selling physical games and consoles, which was what made them stand out to video game lovers (zippia, 2020).

Created by Sony in 1994, to compete with Nintendo. It was originally meant to be a console only company, however, success created a different part for them. They began to make games for their consoles, calling them "PS exclusives". With the combination of impeccable graphics and technology, they became one of the world's leading companies in the gaming industry (History Computer Staff, 2022).


Overall, these two companies have different origins and visions. One focuses on uniting the people through technology, and the other focuses on creating said technology. However, they are quite similar with respect to the products/services they both offer.

A number of people and organisations are responsible for the development of e-commerce and the World Wide Web. E-commerce, also known as electronic commerce, is the buying and selling of goods and services via the internet.
